Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule an appointment?
Simply request a quote or send and e-mail to us. We will do our best to accommodate your request as quickly as we can. For us to better serve you, we request you schedule as far in advance as possible. 48-to-72 hours in advance is the best to guarantee a time. We will of course try to work with last minute requests.

What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that there are always things that happen in life, so we request that you notify us at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Full payment will be forfitted if client must cancel within 24 hours.

What type of massage is best for me?
As you can see from our list of services there are many types of massage therapy. Each service is designed with a specific goal and purpose. If you are not sure, choose the Midwest Sampler massage and let the therapist use several types of massage modalities to reach your goals for the massage treatment.

What do I need to provide the therapist for my massage?
The only thing a client needs to supply is a space large enough for the massage table to be set up and the therapist to move around to do their work.

Do I need to provide music?
The therapist will bring a portable music system with them with music already downloaded. If you prefer to provide your own music, it is perfectly acceptable.

Is there anything I need to do prior to receiving my massage?
You may want to eat a light meal; nothing too heavy to make you uncomfortable while you are on the massage table receiving your treatment. You also may want to shower and warm the skin prior to your massage, but this is not a must.

Please prep the area where the massage is to take place. If furniture or anything needs to be moved, it should be done prior to the therapist arriving.

How early does the therapist arrive before the start of my massage?
The therapist will arrive approximately 20-to-30 minutes prior to the start of a session allowing time to park and set up.

Do I need to wear special clothing?
Seated / chair massage can be performed in any normal clothing. For women it may be best to wear pants and not a skirt or dress the day of your massage. Table massage can also be done fully clothed, but is traditionally done unclothed. This depends on the clients comfort level and privacy of your location.

What products will be used, if any?
For most massage services we use a hypoallergenic sensitive skin lotion that is all natural, water soluable and fragrance free. We may on occasion use a different product for special services. Please inquire if you have special needs or have any allergy related questions.

Will lotion or oil stain my clothing?
Some products can stain and leave an oil mark. If you are concerned about your clothing, it is best to towel off or shower after a table massage, or choose clothing that is easy to launder. No lotion or oils are used in chair massage. If by chance you do get a stain, or mark, just pre-treat your article of clothing with Palmolive dish soap before you wash the clothing.

What if I want more / less pressure?
Pressure is different for every client, all you need to do is request what you would like. This is especially important during the massage as some areas of the body may be more sensitive than others. Our therapist are trained to respond to your requests to adjust the pressure.

Should I tip?
Tipping is customary but never mandatory. It is a sign of excellent work and a job well done. Our therapist will never ask for or hint that they expect a tip. Please contact us if this happens.

If I do tip, how much is customary?
As with any service, tipping is voluntary and so any amount is acceptable and appreciated. Here is a sample of the market standard.

  • Excellent service, above and beyond expectations: 20%
  • Good service, all expectations were met: 10%
  • For services being provided to you that you do not need to pay for, usually gratuity is already included. If you would like to show your appreciation, please feel free to tip.
  • Poor service never deserves a tip, and please let us know via our feedback form.
